Happy Turkey Day!

Mommy woke up and began the traditional Thanksgiving Day routine. Cook, clean, cook, clean, eat, clean, then go for some dessert! The dessert is the best part of Thanksgiving, aside from being with your family of course. Leyton is quite the helper these days. He walks around while I'm doing chores and says "Help Mommy?" He wants to be in on the action at all times. I try to think of some easy tasks he can help me with, so he feels accomplished and I feel like I'm teaching him something new and of interest to him. Hopefully one day he will have better cooking abilites then Daddy. (hehe) Leyton's role was to hand Mommy the fresh green beans for the casserole out of the colander, I snapped each ends then Leyton got to throw the remains in the sink disposal. He enjoyed every minute of it. He loved the cripsy onions that went on top. But who doesn't?! All in all Thanksgiving was a fun-filled times with family, and those we love the most.

Leyton went off to Daddy's in his stylish homemade Turkey Day shirt made by his little hand print and yours truly. He wanted nothing to do with the shirt, but bribbing him with a lollypop got him to wear it. Ahh.. the tricks you learn as a parent.

Diapers, Desserts and Eggrolls too!

A wonderful group of "Anglers" from Bonefish Grill, threw me a diapers and desserts baby shower to celebrate the miracle of little boys!! It was absolutely flattering to have all these wonderful people make a fuss over Baby Landon. They've only known me a short time, but have helped me get through the many stages of pregnancy - all the ups and downs - and finished off my last month of being prego, possible the last one ever, showering me with friendships and diapers!! Not to mention a few extra pounds. I appreciate the many diapers I received and a few little extras. It is safe to say Baby Landon's bootie will be clean and dry for the months to come.

Not only talented, but beautiful!

Leyton is quite the charmer these days. His adorable baby blue eyes and curly blonde hair. He not only has a beautiful baby face, he has soccer talent too! On or off the field Leyton is sure to charm, and fill his Mommy and Daddy's hearts with joy.

37 Weeks!!!

Today Leyton and I ventured out to the Birth Center for my 37 week check up. I was seen by the midwives, but they did not check to see if my cervix has dilated. My belly measures at 34 cm with a total weight gain of 30 lbs. Baby Landon's head is positioned nicely in my pelvic bone, which explains why I've developed this lower back pain the last few days. When the midwife put the monitor on my belly to hear the heartbeat, not only did we get the heartbeat, we listened to Landon hiccuping in my belly. She or I had never heard the hiccups over a doppler before. It was so cute we couldn't help but to chuckle. We are eager and waiting to meet our newest addition to the family!

If everything goes according to plan I will deliver in the bath tub (photo below) and put Landon on the "I Was Born in Water!" list. Wish me luck! If you find water birth as intriguing as I do, you can read more about it at http://www.waterbirth.org/.

Cradle Bumper

My friend, Mary Grace, sewed this beautiful courdaroy football bumper for Landon's cradle. It is amazing! And so is she! We can't wait to see what the cradle will look like when it's all done.

Turkey Day Tees

Leyton and his friends Brodie, Bailey and Addison had a playdate. We did arts and crafts making these beautiful Thanksgiving t-shirts. We used their little hand to create the body of the turkey. Gobble gobble!

Possible a Scorpio?!

Today marked the beginning of my weekly visits to the Birth Center. The end is near and a new baby is on his way. Baby Landon may possible enter this world earlier than I anticipated and might actually make it in time for a slice of Thanksgiving turkey! ;-)

At my appointment, I requested to be checked to see where I am at. After all, I had Leyton 2 weeks and 2 days early. At 36 weeks, I am 1 & 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, which is just about where I was with Leyton at this time. I anticipate a baby as early as next week.

Just about 36 weeks and counting!!

Where does the time go?! It is hard to see myself as a mother of two beautiful boys, but in the weeks to come I will be facing a new life challenge - the birth of our second child. To those who are unaware of my birth plan this time around, I am chosing to go all-natural again! If everything goes according to plan, Baby Landon will be born at The Birthing Center of Gainesville. I have opted to attempt a water birth, but I try not to make any set plans because the baby might have different ones.

The Birth Center of Gainesville is a beautiful, historic victorian home in the heart of downtown Gainesville. There will be no doctor on duty, but mid-wives who will oversee the birth of Baby Landon. I am confident in my decision to experience the miracle of child birth here. Instead of a traditional hospital room, we will be provided with a birthing suite. The suite consists of a bedroom, a kitchen, a sitting area for family and friends, as well as private bath complete with an oversized garden tub. Stay tuned for Baby Landon's birth story... as he will be here in only a few weeks!!!

Mommy's Little Soccer Star!

You can't keep this little one off the soccer field. We now live right across the street from a recreation center. Leyton loves to spend his Saturday mornings and Monday evenings at the soccer field kicking the ball around with Mommy. He is really into the game. I look forward to spending my weekends with the boys on playing soccer. Soccer was one of my favorite sports as a child, so it brings back many great memories of fun on the field.
